SACRAMENTO SPORTS HALL OF FAME PARTNERS WITH

 SPECIAL OLYMPICS NORTHERN CALIFORNIA

The Sacramento Sports Hall of Fame's charitable partner is Special Olympics Northern California.  For the ninth year, the Hall of Fame will raise money and inducted a Special Olympics athlete as part of our annual induction celebration.

Again this year, Special Olympics Northern California will nominate athletes who have demonstrated not only outstanding athletic achievements but strong character, determination and being a good teammate.  Athletes are nominated by their respective coaches, and the Sacramento Sports Hall of Fame committee made the final choice for induction.

Special Olympics Northern California works hard to create an inclusive community where people with and without disabilities can make connections, develop healthy lifestyles, achieve success, and experience the joy of sports. All of our programs are offered free of charge. SONC enriches the lives of more than 27,000 children and adults and pride themselves on offering a wide variety of services to our athletes.  They offer free year-round sports training and competitions in 11 sports, as well as promoting regular health care. This is vital for helping the athletes feel good about themselves.

Special Olympics requires the extraordinary support and time of over 5,500 coaches, 15,000 volunteers and amazing families of our athletes. Financial support comes almost exclusively from individuals, organizations, corporations, and foundations.  The Sacamento Sports Hall of Fame is proud to support this outstanding organization.  We encourage EVERYONE to go to their website and support Special Olympics Northern California in any way you can!

An outstanding $0.91 of every dollar raised goes directly back into local athletic programs!

“Special Olympics Northern California celebrates the greatness in all our athletes and promotes an inclusive community. We are honored that the Sacramento Sports Hall of Fame recognizes and supports the achievements of our amazing Sacramento athletes.”

“We are honored to have Special Olympics Northern California involved with the Sacramento Sports Hall of Fame.  Special Olympics is very dear to our heart and it was a top priority to be associated with them as our charitable partner.   Our missions are similar as we both honor and appreciate our athletes.  It is such a natural fit.  Our goal is to help create awareness of the tremendous work that Special Olympics does in our community and honor these athletes.”
