The Sacramento Sports Hall of Fame was created to publicly honor and acknowledge the athletic achievements of Sacramento’s greatest athletes.  This is a tribute to the athletes who were either born or raised in the greater Sacramento area, and attended an area high school, who went on to achieve greatness in their respective sports at the amateur, collegiate, Olympic and/or professional level.

It is also the mission to create awareness of the talented athletes that have come out of our area who have succeeded at the highest playing level for an extended period of time.

The great sports fans in the Sacramento area are invited to actively participate in the selection process of the Hall of Fame honorees.  Fan voting is open for a select period of time for fans to cast their votes from the list of nominees.

Subsequently, the Sacramento Sports Hall of Fame Celebration event is held annually to honor the athletes with a public induction ceremony featuring the recent honorees.  Induction solidifies their accomplishments and how they are celebrated and embraced by our community and Sacramento area sports fans.​
